A Family Affair
Colin Redmond, a cabinet maker by trade, started Redmonds in 1948 building custom furniture in Ashburton. Barry Redmond joined the business in the flooring department in 1969 followed by Graeme in 1970 to work with furniture and bedding. Graeme moved into farming in the late 1980’s and Chris, the youngest son joined to specialise in interiors and Barry continues managing the flooring business. Barry and Chris bought the business at the turn of the new millennium and their son’s John and Louis followed to join in 2020.
